How The Hague Contributes

The municipality of The Hague has been committed to equal rights and independence for women for a long time. For example, the municipality offers subsidies for organizations that organize activities for equal opportunities for women and queer people. The program Equal Opportunities for Women in The Hague draws attention to equal treatment of women. With this program, the municipality wants to ensure that women get the same opportunities, stand up for themselves and have money to live on. Femmes for Freedom

Bicultural girls and women who know their rights and decide for themselves about their bodies, lives and money. That is what Femmes for Freedom is fighting for. In the Netherlands, but also internationally.

Femmes for Freedom is an organization that fights for girls and women from a bicultural background. They do this with a diverse team of employees and volunteers from different backgrounds. Femmes for Freedom values inclusiveness and intersectionality, both in the workplace and in the organization. That is why they work with women and men with different cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds and ages. They ensure that together they realize sustainable, intersectional and inclusive change.

Yasmin

Women have the right to a good and independent position in society. At the Yasmin Foundation, awareness and personal development are therefore paramount. Yasmin is a participation center; on the basis of information, advice, guidance, personal development plans, coaching and various activities, women can learn more about how to take steps towards an active role in society. Whether that is education, work, volunteer work or something else.

To this end, Yasmin offers an accessible and safe environment in which personal wishes and possibilities are central and every woman is given the opportunity to develop herself further.

Mijn Buuf

My Buuf is a workshop that focuses on sustainability and empowering socially isolated women. The women who work at My Buuf are often migrants with a small social network. Here they find a community and make sustainable products for all kinds of companies. Read more about My Buuf here.
