SDG 5: Gender Equality

Achieve Gender Equality and Empower All Women and Girls

SDG 5 was developed to achieve emancipation for women and girls. “Equality between men and women is not only a human right but also the basis for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world,” according to the United Nations. SDG also stands for equal rights to economic resources and equal leadership opportunities. This includes, for example, right to a good education, right to economic resources, equal opportunities in leadership positions, and countering forced (child) marriage, and violence and discrimination against women.
