Policy, Initiatives and Organizations

How The Hague Contributes

The education policy in The Hague aims to ensure that every student receives the same opportunities and is able to take the same opportunities. That is good for the developing child and good for a socially and economically healthy city. Talent should not be wasted. Talent that is desperately needed for innovation in the city and prosperity in the future.  What the world will look like tomorrow is determined today. In education.

Haagse Helpers

Network Haagse Helpers dreams of a socially connected city in which every young person in The Hague is aware of his or her talents and wants to use them to help vulnerable fellow citizens. Haagse Helpers activates and inspires young people between the ages of 15 and 30 to carry out voluntary aid activities. With a little bit of time, the volunteers make a big difference for someone else. Doing shopping, baking pancakes or helping with moving: the help of Haagse Helpers can be of great value to someone else.

Volunteers also receive opportunities for self-development by means of training courses and workshops. Haagse Helpers brings different worlds together. Haagse Helpers connects volunteers and organizations. The network consists of aid recipients, volunteers, schools, religious institutions, social organisations, student associations, various (local) partners and the municipality of The Hague. Everyone can participate.
