SDG 2: Zero Hunger
End Hunger, Achieve Food Security and Improved Nutrition
SDG 2 focuses on ending hunger and malnutrition and ensuring food security. In the way we produce, distribute and consume food. In 2030, the food and agricultural sector must be changed in such a way that ecosystems are not damaged for food production. Only in this way we can permanently end hunger and ensure that people worldwide have access to healthy food.

How The Hague Contributes
The Hague municipality's plans can be read in the Hague Food Strategy. The four pillars therein are: regional supply, local sustainable entrepreneurs, neighborhood food initiatives and education. Through Stadslandbouw in The Hague, the municipality advises and supports the plans of residents and entrepreneurs for growing sustainable food. In addition, the Hague region, with Westland horticulture in its backyard, is responsible for much of the production of fruit and vegetables. The horticulturists produce as efficiently as possible, using as little water and energy as possible.
